This is one of two carvings of traditional celtic labyrinths, embedded in a rock face in the originally-named Rocky Valley in North Cornwall. Nestled behind the ruins of an old mill within a brilliantly lush glen teaming with wildlife, the labyrinths remain somewhat of an enigma. The common belief is that they were carved nearly 1500 years ago (making them practically as ancient as Stonehenge), wheras others say they’re no older than 300. Whatever the case, they’re great pieces of handiwork, and an echo of a faded age where we lived in greater mercy and respect of the natural world.
