Blogs for the Independent: Pangolins in Peril

An illegal trade just as devastating, and to the same markets, as that of rhino horn and elephant ivory. It threatens to wipe out entire species’ of pangolin, the likes of which have been unique and unchanged for over 60 million years.

  1. Hi Peter,

I recently (although rather late!) read this article on the independent. I got this photo last year in Ivory Coast:

Admittedly, the Pangolin wasn’t going to be shipped off to China, and was ending up on their plate. But after 3 or so years on and off in west Africa, it’s the only live Pangolin I’ve ever seen. Thought it might be of interest.

    Thanks,
    Tom
